Women's Studies Scholarships

The Women's Studies Program offers tuition and book scholarships each year (as funds are available) for Women's Studies Minors.  Applications for scholarships must be submitted to the Women's Studies Coordinator in the Program Office (Social Sciences Building, Room 301).  Contact the office for details and requirements by calling (801) 626-7632.  Please note: In addition to the paper application submitted to the Women's Studies office, applicants must also complete the WSU online scholarship application accessed via their eWeber portal on the Student Service tab.

Phoenix Achievement Scholarship
The Phoenix Achievement Scholarship was established by a private donor to support students minoring in the Women’s Studies program at Weber State University and to enhance the education of women’s issues generally across campus.

The scholarship will be awarded annually (as funds are available) to one or more students who participate in the Women’s Studies Program.  The scholarship can be used to fund tuition, fees, and/or books for the qualified student(s).  Preference will go to non-traditional women students (defined as 25 years of age or older).  If there is not a non-traditional woman student who meets the following criteria, the scholarship can then be awarded to a traditional woman student(s) who participates in the Women’s Studies Program.

Criteria:

a.      Undergraduate enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more) leading to a degree.
b.
Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above and be making satisfactory progress toward a degree.

Traditional Scholarship Award
Eligible applicants should meet the following requirements:

a.      Male or Female 26 years of age or younger
b.      Declared women's studies minor
c.      Willing to become active in the program

Applications for these scholarships are made available in the fall online or in the Women's Studies Office, Room 303, in the Social Science Building.  Preference will be given to those who are not currently receiving other forms of assistance.  If you have any questions, call the Women's Studies Office at
(801) 626-7632.

For general WSU Scholarship info, please see their website at http://weber.edu/scholarships/default.html.  Applications are available from their main website beginning October 1 and are due in by January 11.
