April 13, 2006
Southern Utah University
Cedar City, Utah
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2007
All faculty and student members of the Academy are eligible to
participate. Membership is $25 per year. The Academy encourages
participants to submit a manuscript on their presentation for
publication in the refereed Journal of the Utah Academy. One outstanding
manuscript from each Division will be selected and its author(s) will

To authors of papers presented at the Annual Conference:
The Journal’s criteria are that a submission: (1) affords fresh,
meaningful scholarly insight on its subject; (2) be readable and well
written; and (3) be of general interest for an academic readership
beyond the author’s field.
If you wish your paper to be considered for publication in the Journal,
please send four copies of your paper and abstract to Mikel Vause (see
address below) and one copy to the chair of your division for
consideration for Best Paper Award by June 1, 2006. Include both your
institutional and home addresses, along with both telephone numbers, fax
number and e-mail address. Papers will be peer reviewed. Please suggest
possible appropriate referees, including names, telephone numbers,
addresses and e-mail.
At the time of acceptance for publication, manuscripts must be submitted
on a 3.5" diskette in Word or WordPerfect format. Papers must conform to
MLA, APA, Chicago or CBE style guides.
The Journal of the Utah Academy is a refereed journal. Editorial
