Jointer

Before Turning On The Jointer
1. Always wear safety glasses when operating any machinery.
2. Make cut depth adjustments before turning on jointer. Limit depth
of cut to 1/8 inch.
3. Use only clean lumber. Lumber with nails, loose knots, paint, etc
should not be surfaced on the jointer.
Operating The Jointer
1. Use push blocks whenever possible to avoid injury. Always keep
fingers at least 2 inches away from blade.
2. Keep stock securely against fence.
3. Keep area inline with jointer clear while in operation to avoid
possible injury if stock is ejected from machine.
4. Make sure there is adequate clearance for stock as it feeds through
jointer.
5. Make sure guard over blades returns after cut. Do not tamper with
or remove guard.
6. Push stock over blades and allow guard to close before attempting
to remove stock.
7. Stock to be face cut should not be less than 1/2 inch thick. Stock
to be edge jointed should not be less than 1/2 inch thick, 3 inches
wide, and 12 inches long.
8. Never put pressure on stock directly over the knives.
9. Be sure the guard returns properly over the knives and never remove
the guard.
