Application Process
1. Fill out the online application form (see link below). You will need to list the area of research in which you are most interested, as well as the mentor with whom you would most like to work (first, second, and third choice), so please prepare this beforehand. Do NOT click SUBMIT unless you have completed all the sections being asked for in the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

2. In addition to the online application, all applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation from individuals who are knowledgeable of your academic or scientific achievements. Your faculty advisors from your home institution should complete the recommendation form (see link below), as well as writing a letter of recommendation. Include the recommendations (in envelopes, sealed and signed by your recommenders) with your academic transcripts, or they may be mailed separately. Mail this portion of your application to:

3. Submit a copy of your transcripts with your paper application (see below). Please mail these to the address listed above.
4. Submit a copy of the paper application. Click on the link below to print the application
5. All students who apply must meet the following criteria:
a. You must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
b. You must not be planning on graduating prior to Spring 2010
c. Students accepted into the REU must not work during the program nor be enrolled in summer courses
d. All student participants must live in the University Housing provided by the program
SUMMARY: To apply to this program, you must submit both an online AND a paper application (see links above). You must also submit 2 letters of recommendation, which include a provided recommendation form (see link above). Finally, you should mail your letters of recommendation, the recommendation forms, your paper application, and your transcripts to the address given above.
