Course Description:
This course prepares teachers to be advocates and practitioners of family involvement in education. Goals and benefits of family involvement will be explored along with specific strategies for developing a partnership with families within the education system. Components of family structure, economics, cultural diversity, second-language learners, communication skills and resources are integrated into the participant experience.

START by exploring the Orientation information. This will provide you with general information about how to navigate through this course, how to recognize links and assignments. If you are new to this online method of instruction, then you will definitely want to attend the orientation (that is the online orientation).

NEXT... After attending the general orientation, you will become familiar with course material and specific assignments by reading the syllabus. Links to the assignment pages are also provided on the schedule page. Questions regarding assignments should be directed to the instructor.

FINALLY... After reading through the syllabus, you are ready to actually get started on the course. You will go to the schedule page and get started on the reading and the assignments. Reading are located online in the course material.
