Weber State University offers more than $50 million in Federal financial assistance and funding to students. We try to make applying for these funds as easy as possible. The following steps are to help you begin your process in applying for federal aid funding. "How to apply for Finanial Aid" For further information regarding appling for federal financial aid or questions regarding your application status, contact the Financial Aid office. Scholarships Offered by Weber State University Every year W.S.U. provides more than $6 million in scholarships to new, continuing and transfer students. Like grants, these scholarships need not be paid back. The Scholarship program at W.S.U. serves students throughout their college career. There are academic, activity, departmental, private sponsored, non-resident and graduate scholarships available. In addition, there are need-based programs, called "special condition" or "sponsor awards." As a new student, your completed admission application automatically qualifies you for consideration for all available W.S.U. scholarships - no other application is necessary. Continuing W.S.U. students need to update their personal information each year to be considered for all available scholarships. For specific deadline dates and further information contact the Weber State University Scholarship Office. Students should apply for scholarships through the Scholarship Office; however, there are additional scholarship applications in Davis Women's Student Services. Applications are accepted from January through March 31st. Students can apply for community-sponsored scholarships at the Women's Student Services. All applicants will be required to meet with a Women's Center counselor for a mandatory scholarship interview prior to March 31st. Requirements and due dates are subject to change, so please check the office regularly for updated information. Most scholarships are based on full-time enrollment, a 3.0 G.P.A. and must have Utah residency and U.S. citizenship or residency, unless specified otherwise. Students should apply for scholarships/financial aid through the Scholarship Office; however, there are additional scholarship opportunities that are out there offered through WSU departments, programs and outside agencies, foundations and corporations. Take time to review our current listing of outside scholarship opportunities by following the 'scholarship resources' link below. Workshops on how to find your own scholarships and how to write compelling 'personal statements' for scholarshop applications are held throughout the academic year so don't forget to check out our calendar of events. |
