We must receive it at least 7 days prior to the start of class. Only registered participants are allowed to attend training. No children or guests.

Our classes are held in the McKay Education Building on Weber State University's Ogden campus.
Our physical address is 1351 Edvalson St, Ogden . Parking is free in most lots after 4pm. We recommend either parking in the A2 lot east of our building or the parking lot of the LDS Institue of Religion southwest of our building.

If you don't find the class you are looking for in our current schedule, you can check with one of our sister agencies. For a statewide list of training go to the Care About Childcare website.

Other Training Opportunities

There are other opportunities for training within our community. These include CPR/First Aid classes, licensing regulation classes and occasional classes being offered by The Nature Center and the Weber-Morgan Health Department. Visit our community training page for more information.

Freelance Instructor Network
In partnership with Care About Childcare, the Office of Child Care is piloting a new initiative called the Freelance Instructor Network (FIN). In this pilot, programs will be able to independently contract with an approved instructor to teach Care About Childcare courses for their employees. Programs will be able to negotiate the time and place of the training with the contracted instructor.

  • Contact Janet Walquist at janetwalquist@weber.edu or 801-626-7861 to request the FIN contact list for your area.
  • Then, contact an instructor on the list and discuss your program's professional development needs.
  • Finally, Independently contract with an instructor to teach a Care About Childcare course for the staff at your program.

As the Child Care Quality System (CCQS) launches, our Career Ladder Training options as well as the FIN will help in meeting your program's professional development goals.
