Outcome Curriculum Based Student Learning Outcomes Means of Evaluation Timing
Outcome #1 Student will use therapeutic nursing interventions which reflect standard of nursing practice. This will be exhibited by student’s ability to use psychomotor and psycho-social interventions which promote health; and prevent, minimize, or resolve problems as identified by the nurse and patient. Therapeutic interventions are independent actions grouped in theory-based research and experiences.

Outcome #2 Student will reflect creative and critical thinking skills. Creative and critical thinking is characterized by openness of inquiry, ability to ask pertinent questions, production of new ideas, flexible problem solving, examination of underlying assumptions, and an ability to present diverse perspectives.

Beginning & End of Program

Outcome #3 Student will be able to communicate through oral, written, and nonverbal means, and through informatics technology. Use of these communication modes will be reflected in an ability to collaborate with clients and other health care professionals, implement changes to improve health care delivery, conduct teaching appropriate for the client, counsel clients to meet basic human needs, function appropriately within a group, and document activities using approved processes.
