Description Of When The Faculty Discussed These Results

  1. All assessment information is discussed monthly at regularly scheduled department faculty meetings.
  2. Twice annually the department holds an all day planning meeting to discuss changes and improvements to the programs within the Department.
  3. Advisory Committee meetings are held each semester.
  4. Individual clinical site issues are discussed regularly with clinical faculty.
  5. Appropriate information is shared with students annually during student orientation, during the semester as warranted and/or with student organization leadership.

Implications These Results Have On The Department And Changes Made

  1. Student evaluation of clinical education sites has been reviewed with each of the clinical sites and changes made to better facilitate the clinical education for students. Additional student rotations have been added, clinical have been added or changed to provide better well rounded clinical education for students, Additionally, new clinical sites were added in the specialty And 2 year program programs to increase student enrollment numbers.
     
  2. Faculty teaching loads continue to be evaluated and re-assignments made when appropriate. The Clinical/Lab manager position was converted to a soft money faculty line to assist with course loads and allow program growth and development.
     
  3. The clinical competency evaluation system requiring the verification of clinical competency by the radiologist or the supervising technologist continues to revised. The program made changes in the teo year Radiography to make it a 5 semester program. This change now requires additional changes in the clinical education evaluation process.
     
  4. All courses in the Department of Radiologic Sciences are now technology blended and continue to be developed to include more power point presentation , chi tester based testing and web assisted delivery. Additionally the program is look at a evaluation process for these courses.
     
  5. Additional, adjunct faculty have been utilized to alleviated the teaching load of the faculty and travel to clinical sites.
     
  6. The Department of Radiologic Sciences has developed a graduate degree in health science with a clinical emphasis that will meet the needs of our students and the changing health care industry. It is hoped this will be complete in the 2007-08 year.
     
  7. With the assistance of the Departments advisory committee the Department is continuing investigation into the development of a course offering in Radiation Medical Dosimetry, Medical Imaging for Women, and Radiology Medical Informatic’s.
     
  8. Course offering in Vascular and re working the cardiac Sonography are being implemented.
     
  9. Long Range Plan for the Department being developed in concert with the goals and long range plan of Dumke College of Health Profession overreaching goals of the University and the outcomes of academic affairs.
     
  10. The Department has worked closely with the development office to foster new relationships for potential donors for the Department of Radiologic Sciences. This has yielded several new scholarships.
     
  11. Changes were made to streamlined the student Orientation procedures, clinical placements , and registration in the CE department.
