Description Of When The Faculty Discussed These Results:
- All assessment information is discussed monthly at regularly
scheduled department faculty meetings.
- Twice annually faculty conducts an all day planning meeting to
discuss changes and improvements to the programs within the Department.
- Advisory Committee meetings are held each semester.
- Individual clinical site issues are discussed regularly with clinical
faculty.
- Appropriate information is shared with students annually during
student orientation, during the semester as warranted and/or with
student organization leaders.
Implications These Results Have On The Department 2000-2001:
- Due to frugal budget management , the program purchased new computers
for the faculty and was funded by a University committee to purchase
electronic equipment for two classrooms.
- An additional faculty member was hired as of August 1, 2001 and
several additional adjunct faculty are being utilized this year. This
has alleviated the teaching load of the faculty and travel to clinical
sites. Also, the Dean has been asked about providing future budgetary
funding for a clinical lab manager (professional staff).
- Each Program in the Department has implemented a clinical competency
validation system requiring the verification of clinical competency by
the radiologist and/or the supervising technologist. This system is used
to evaluate students at local and distance clinical education sites.
- Some programs have implemented new on-line discussion groups.
- An electronic bulletin board has been developed to post information
for students and clinical faculty.
- An equipment plan delineating a five and two year plan has been
developed and submitted t the Dean of Dumke College of Health
professions.
- Student evaluation of clinical education sites has been changed to
occur annually by all students.
- A Radiologic Sciences Information and Clinical Instructor Policy
Manual has been developed and distributed to all clinical sites.
- A master plan of education for the Department of Radiologic Sciences
was developed and submitted to the Dean’s Office.
- Student exit interview form was modified to include quantitative
measures.
- Student representation was added to the advisory committee.
- The curricula for the programs was reviewed and appropriate changes
made.
- Lab courses have been further developed and refined.
Student Learning Outcomes To Be Assessed 2001-2002:
