As the final stage in our assessment strategy, the Philosophy Program has implemented a new course into the program. Philosophy 4900, Senior Capstone Seminar, will now be required for all philosophy minors. The Seminar will consist of two components. The first will be an overview of the discipline. They will be required to take a test that will demonstrate competence in the methodology of the discipline (i.e., logic) as well as in the various subject matters of the discipline: History of philosophy, epistemology, metaphysics and value theory. Students will also will be required to complete a paper that demonstrates an ability to utilize the research methods of the discipline. Both the test and the research paper will be on file in the department.
