Results of Assessment
2002-2003

The Theatre Area outcomes assessment results for 2002-2003 showed the
following:
1. There was a need to make some changes in the musical theatre major.
Several course changes were approved and will be implemented beginning with
the fall of 2003.
2. The Theatre Area Student handbook needs to be revised each year. It
wasn't revised in the 2002-2003 school year.
3. Students continue to feel very positive about the learning environment
in the area.
4. There is more interest in having the Theatre Area become accredited
through the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST).
General Concerns
1. There is still no policy regarding attendance at, and funding for
attendance at ACTF. This year the department again was invited to the regional
competition, and a special request was made to the Provost to fund the trip.
2. There remains a serious need for an additional faculty member.
