This year 29 graduating seniors, majoring in French, German or Spanish, went though our assessment process.

Student Learning Outcome 1:

  • Oral Proficiency

  • Assessed using a computer administered Oral Proficiency Test

  • The overall average proficiency for language majors was Advanced Low.

Student Learning Outcomes 2-5:

  • Written Proficiency, Styles, Analysis and Culture

  • Assessed by reviewing student work submitted in a portfolio

Graduating majors in French, German and Spanish submitted a total of 29 portfolios.  All of these have been reviewed in French and German and approximately half of them have been reviewed in Spanish. In all languages, most of the students are achieving the levels set our criteria for these four learning outcomes.
