Results of Assessment

2007-2008 (submitted 07/02/08)

During 2007-2008, the English department was not active in assessing student outcomes. The University wide focus on General Education Assessments took precedence over other assessments. However, for 2008-2009, the English department has set the following assessment goals:

• We will revisit the learning outcomes already established and update them.
• We will add outcomes for Creative Writing emphasis.
• We will resume conducting exiting interviews with groups of graduating students.
• We will continue to support the Developmental English Program through NADE certification and its assessment process.
• We will continue conducting student evaluations of all MENG courses with the goal of using the information to evaluate existing courses and to plan for the creation of new courses.
