Outcomes Data Results 2002-2003
Students will be able to use library and computer resources both to gather and present accounting information. Specific accounting classes assess student's skills in this area (e.g. Acct 6400). Greater availablility of online resources (i.e. databases) have shifted the way accounting information is accessed. Department will continue to assess this objective and stay current with developments in the field.
Students will be able to use analysis, synthesis, and evaluation skills to solve accounting problems. Accounting majors placed in 97th percentile on ETS examination which tests ability to solve accounting problems. Department was pleased with this result. Department will continue to monitor ETS data.
Graduates will be placed in positions befitting their education and with competitive salaries. Annual employment survey of accounting graduates. Salaries at the masters level held above $40,000.  Salaries at the bachelors level were weaker. Department was generally pleased with the result, though a stronger result was desired for BS/BA students. Department will continue to monitor placement data. Additional data on careers is desirable.
