With the support of WSU Provost’s office, last year the senior students in the CLS capstone courses had the opportunity to showcase their research projects during the National Undergraduate Research Conference. Additionally, they presented their research findings at the Utah Society for Clinical Laboratory Science 2003 spring meeting. 2. Discussion of Data: The data collected were discussed during some of the CLS faculty weekly meetings. The results are also communicated to the CLS Advisory Council meeting during Spring Semester annually. 3. Changes anticipated as a result of the discussions: The program national pass rate is significantly higher than the national average for both CLT and CLS programs. We hope to continue with this long-standing tradition and to include our online programs as well. The employment placement rate of 100% has been very favorable for our graduates and beneficial to our health care community. The employer survey is modified annually to correspond to the needs of rapidly changing health care environment. Since Clinical Laboratory Sciences profession is still experiencing a great shortage and it has been estimated that this shortage will continue with a higher rate into the next four years, assessing the employers becomes more critical. Consequently, employer survey continues to be modified and will be assessed annually to review the graduate outcomes and market needs. 4. Students outcomes to be assessed for both on campus and online settings in academic year 2003-2004: v Written examinations scores in each course v National Board Examination Results (Quarterly) v Clinical evaluations during the Summer Semester 2004 v Laboratory evaluations, practical exams/laboratory competencies, and procedure outcomes for each course for both on campus and online v Interest Survey v Exit Survey prior to graduation v Six-month Post Graduate Survey v Employer Survey v Work Keys for the CLT students, possibly to include the CLT Online Students v Online students survey specific to online education and clinical rotation. v Showcase undergraduate research projects from Senior Capstone courses.
