assessed on each of the following criteria. Numbers will be
assigned, from high to low, on a seven point scale. |
1. FORM
Use of design principles to support aesthetic objectives including:
a. skill in 2-D visual organization and 3-D space and form (through
illusory technique or handling of actual 3D form), value/color,
hierarchy, proportion, etc.
b. sensitivity to the aesthetics of material |
2. CONCEPT
a. idea development (how far has it been pushed?)
b. clarity (is the overall idea concise and focused or is it diluted
with unrelated elements?)
c. contemporary, personal, historical, cultural relevance
d. originality |
3. TECHNICAL
Competence in executing convincing visual statements within a studio
discipline including:
a. demonstrated abilities with materials and processes
b. professional-level presentation of work |
4. WRITING
a. are the ideas organized?
b. is the argument persuasive?
c. are the ideas appropriately sophisticated? |
